A parchment capsule was strapped to the pigeon's leg. The scroll was soaking wet, but I could still read part of the text -- the start of an official UED Field Report from the Caspian Bureau, circa July '51. As far as we knew -- rightfully assumed -- all human life had been snuffed out as soon as the Chimera rolled into Europe, and that would includes the area in and around the Caspian Sea. Bloody hell, did a small UED field office somehow survive? Or was this letter meant to deceive the UED -- to mislead them into sending a delegation to the Caspian Bureau where they would fall into some kind of trap. A better question is, who's trying to spring the trap?
