SRPA Station 003 (SFCA) was a SRPA base located in San Francisco, California.

History[]

The base served as a coastal military defense and research facility which protected San Francisco with long range anti-aircraft gun batteries. The installations of the batteries were upgraded as a direct response to two Chimeran airships that were sighted off of San Francisco within gun range on August 9, 1952.[1] SRPA 3 also housed a large research and development team, often led by Dr. Fyodor Malikov, in which Gray Tech and Chimeran technology were studied and, where possible, reverse engineered.

The facility was partially located beneath the San Francisco Bay itself, and maintained a substantial moon pool for submersible transportation. It was also possibly used for testing water-based experiments such as weapons and vehicles.[2]

SRPA 3 was attacked by the Chimera on May 15, 1953 at the same time as the nearby city of San Francisco during the Chimeran fleet's invasion of America. In an effort to cripple the base's defense, the Chimera deployed a Kraken, which breached the station's tactical command room and flooded portions of the base, rendering SRPA units unable to communicate effectively.

Additionally, shortly after Echo Team sealed a secondary breach in the moon pool, the Kraken intervened, destroying the locking mechanisms on the moon pool doors and causing further flooding. The scattered SRPA forces eventually regrouped near an anti-aircraft gun under the command of Echo Team, which heavily damaged a nearby Chimeran battleship, forcing it to flee to Orick, California. However, with Chimeran forces overrunning much of the station, SRPA forces were forced to evacuate the facility. In the chaotic retreat which ensued, X-Ray Squad was unable to secure essential viral inhibitors. Lt. Hale subsequently reentered the rapidly flooding base to retrieve them whilst Echo Team redeployed to track the damaged battleship.

Securing the vials, Hale arrived at the station's helipad where he encountered the Kraken one final time before killing it with a MP-47 Pulse Cannon. Shortly afterwards, VTOL 'Victor Twenty' arrived to extract Hale, re-deploying him as part of a ground convoy heading into Orick.
