A successor of the Rossmore 237 known as the Rossmore 238 Combat Shotgun first appears in Resistance 2. It retains its previous firing function, but the difference between its predecessor is that the 238 removes the shoulder stock and includes a magazine clip to decrease reloading time, and a pistol grip.
Trivia
- The Rossmore 238 bears some similarity to the Ithaca 37 shotgun.
- This weapon, along with the Fragmentation Grenade, V7 Splicer, and the MP-47 Pulse Cannon can sometimes turn most Chimera into a pile of blood and organs.
- On some levels, such as Twin Falls, Idaho, it will appear that a Rossmore 236 Combat Shotgun is on the ground, however, when picked up, it will have changed back to the Rossmore 238 Combat Shotgun.
Glitches
- In Resistance 2 sometimes when a player melee a Grim while wielding the Rossmore the Grim will often explode into a bloody mess as if it were shot by the shotgun at close range.
