The secret messages didn't stand out, but once I realised they were there, the signals were easy to spot. The painted red arrows had each pointed forward, along the same path I was taking, signatures of a careful, methodical, and sane mind. The artist wasn't here to lollygag and make cave paintings. No. This arrow was part of a system for humans to communicate and establish safe passage through the catacombs.
