Mary Farley was the wife of Frank Farley and the mother of Susan Farley, and her foster son Nathan Hale. She died defending their homestead, the Rocking F Ranch in South Dakota. She acted as a nurse for the wounded farm-hands that helped defend the ranch from the invading Chimera. She was killed when an auger round from a Steelhead hit her in the head. She was buried in the mass grave next to the house by the lone surviver of the attack, Susan Farley.
