[edit] Background

The Maquis came from a group of radicals who broke away from the UED in 1948 and sabotaged train lines that spread across Europe because the Maquis feared that these train lines could be useful to the Russians moving west if they were ever to invade Europe.[1] However, their actions proved later wrong with the appearance of the Chimera. When the Chimera invade and nearly all life in Europe was lost, the Maquis went into hiding with survivors and began a guerrilla war against the Chimera in the continent. The organization set up several secret strongholds throughout Europe, including a fortress in Luxembourg where Dr. Claude Bouchard began his research in combating the Chimeran conversion process. However, the Maquis are known by its allies as being still as ruthless as they were before in 1948, while in their endeavors in defeating the Chimera even if it involves the welfare of human beings. Incidents includes Maquis soldiers led by Colonel Roland Mallery began stealing supplies from refugees, including those who came from Africa and Asia; and as well from their allies.[2][3] They are also known to steal medical supplies from an orphanage.[4] Overall, they will do anything to defeat the Chimera.

Due to their dire situation, the organization has become desperate in finding available military resources and resorted in using obsolete weapons and equipment.[5] It is believed that they are working with SRPA in secret.
