Iceland is a country in the Northern-Atlantic Ocean, with its capital of Rekjahvik, and the closest European country is Chimera-occupied Norway, 970 kilometers away.

In 1951, Iceland was invaded by the Chimera, and all retaliatory attempts by SRPA and the Icelandic Military failed with VTOL and Sabre aircrafts and M-12 Sabertooth ground support were no match for the Goliaths, Stalkers and Advanced Hybrid infantry. It is during this invasion, that Daedalus escaped from his confines in SRPA Station Igloo. Sometime during Iceland's occupation that a Chimeran tower was unearthed in Holar, known as Holar Tower.

Two years later, SRPA launched an attack on Holar Tower in an attempt to assassinate Daedalus. However, this plan backfired, resulting in the loss of two Sentinels, Hawthorne and Warner, a large portion of SRPA's Black Ops soldiers, and eventually the fall of the Liberty Defense Perimeter.
