George Washington Bridge is a suspension bridge spanning the Hudson River, connecting Manhattan in New York City to New Jersey. On May 12, 1951, the lower deck of the George Washington Bridge was hastily completed to meet the demands of military transport and traffic in accordance to SRPA's project on Ellis Island.
During the Chimera's attack on New York City, evacuees from the city used the George Washington Bridge to New Jersey to escape from the Chimera. During the chaos, a New York fireman Tom Riley assisted a stranded group of VTOL crew survivors and helped to evacuate them. F-86 Sabres ultimately destroyed the bridge, preventing the Chimera from crossing.
