Fredrick Niland was a American soldier. He was given an honorable discharge from duty after reports indicated that all three of his brothers, shortly following Preston Niland's death, died in military duty in the Chimeran War.[1]

- Frederick Niland and his brothers are based on their real-life historical counterparts who served in World War II. Notably, the premise of the movie Saving Private Ryan was based on the Niland brothers.[2]
