Frank welcomed Hale to his family after Hale's last closest relative passed away; however, there was a sort of platonic relationship established between him and Hale. Although Frank actually does care for Hale. After Hale enlisted into the military, Frank, in a way, misses his adopted son and would often be yelling at anyone mentioning Hale's name. Frank was indifferent to Susan's distrust of their government and her affiliation to the Alliance for American Autonomy, but would come to his daughter's defense when someone blatantly accused her as a traitor.
