Hardfangs are a breed of Chimera similar to the Hybrids but are known to be tougher and crueler.

Overview[]

Hardfangs were seemingly created to be shock troops, as their conversion process have been skewed in favor of heightening the creature's aggression and eliminating all self-preservation instinct. They rush into battle wielding an Arc Charger to hit as many targets as possible before they are taken down by human forces.

British forces such as the Royal Marine Commandos were aware of the dangers posed by the Hardfangs and have often use a designated marksman to identify and eliminate these Chimera before they can get close enough to become a threat,

Hardfangs first appear in the level Bristol - "Evacuation" when Nathan Hale fought his way through the cafeteria in Southern Command.

General strategies[]

  • Hardfangs rarely use cover, and will commonly charge straight for the player, so they're pretty easy to kill. The player must be wary of their Arc Chargers, as these can do serious damage to the player's health.
  • Hide in a corner or enclosed space, wait for them to come to the player, then greet them with a Rossmore 236 blast.
  • Using the Fareye and slow down time is also an efficient way of killing them before they can get close enough to damage the player, and it is the British Army's recommended tactic for dealing with Hardfangs.
  • Their Arc Chargers will render Backlash Grenades completely ineffective.

Intel[]

Hardfangs are similar to Hybrids, but tougher and crueler. Their conversion process has been skewed to heighten their aggressiveness and eliminate all self-preservation instinct. They rush deep into the fray to use the Arc Charger weapon where it can strike the most targets. Royal Marine Commandos often use a designated marksman to dispatch Hardfangs before they can get close enough to be a threat.
