The latest trailer for Resistance: Burning Skies had just been released on the 12th of April.

The new trailer shows some of the features through the multiplayer version of Burning Skies.

Hey guys and girls, even though Insomniac have announced that Resistance 3 would be their last Resistance game and we wish them the best of luck in future projects (thankyou), it doesn't mean the franchise is dead.

Nihilistic Software has announced that Resistance: Burning Skies, will be released on PS Vita in North America on May 29th, 2012 and May 30th in the EU. [1].

The game is a prequel set in 1951, following the life of Fireman Tom Riley during the Chimeran Attacks on New York and the game will be in the record books as the worlds first portable dual-analouge game.

Some time ago the next installment in DLC content for resistance 3 came out. One of the main aspects of the pack is the addition of type of Survival mode. The idea is to starve over waves of enemies like in other game modes. A Mick Cutler Multiplayer Skin unlock is also included.

I know it seems like a random question, but... Imagine someone told you that it was possible to turn you into any breed of Chimera you wanted to be. You'd keep your human thoughts and sanity, but you'd have the physical appearance and capabilities of a Chimera. What would you choose to be?

Personally, I think I'd choose to be something big and tough - maybe a Steelhead. I always thought they were the coolest type of Chimera. What would you choose to be (be sure to include reasons)?

It's been quite a while since I edited here, so... hello again. I got Resistance 3 alongside Modern Warfare 3 for Christmas, and I decided I'd post my thoughts on it here.

I'll be frank... I was disappointed by it. In my opinion, Resistance 3 was just a step-down from Resistance 2 in a lot of ways.

First and foremost: why is the health meter back? Regenerative health was a lot better in R2, and saved a lot of frustration for me during the harder levels (like trying to defeat the bitch that is the Swarm in Bryce Canyon). Then, all of a sudden, whoa! You're back to running around desperately searching for health packs while a full squad of hybrids uses you for target practice. Hey guys/gals, I'm back and today Nihilistic Software has given the Playstation Blog a preview of another level from Resistance: Burning Skies. It can be seen by clicking here.

In this part, Fireman Tom Riley is trying to save civilians on the George Washington Bridge, before the Army/SRPA/Random people destroy it to prevent the Chimera crossing. It shows a new weapon, a sniper rifle called the SixEye. It also shows Sniper Hybrids (from Resistance 3 fame) as well.

From the looks of it, the game is shaping up nicely, but what do you peeps think? (P.S. sorry for the long time but this week is the first real week I've had time to work on this wiki, so to celebrate I've updated the Poll :P .)

Going to play through Nature of the Beast on Resistance 3 a couple of times and write a summary of it. If anone wants to provide pictures, please do.

Insomniac has confirmed DLC for its newest game, Resistance 3.

Called the Survival Pack, it goes live on PSN for $3.99 on October 4th, and includes new multiplayer mode Invasion, which seems to be a sort of human-versus-Chimera King of the Hill. It also comes with an XMB theme and a smattering of multiplayer skins. No European price was confirmed.

Those of you who finished Resistance 2 will remember Joeseph Capelli blowing Nathan Hale’s brain out with a well placed shotgun blast. During the course of the new book, Resistance: Hole In The Sky, Nathan remains resolutely dead but his consciousness is alive and well in Capelli’s head, commenting on his actions and generally being a bitchy queen.

There’s no indication in the book whether this bodiless version of Hale is a figment of Joseph’s imagination or some Chimera weirdness that will result in Hale returning during the course of the game via a Bones/Spock mind meld. Over at IGN, they can't stop ranting and raving about the awesomeness that is Resistance 3. We of course already know that in Resistance 3, we take control of Joseph Capelli as we attempt to take down the remaining Chimera.

IGN is quick to mention the functionality and smoothness of the controlling system. Playstation Move functionality seems to not be perfect, but still decent enough. Also, the violence and the gut-wrenching terror has been raised in this game to extreme levels.

The levels in the game are said to be extremely diverse, including boats, trains, and escort missions. The multiplayer also continues to be a strong aspect of the game, even though it has been scaled down to 16 players. This however is a good thing as it makes battl…

On PlayStation LifeStyle's website Insomniac Games gives Resistance 3 beta players two gifts for taking part in the beta.

During an interview by Gaming Union with Marcus Smith, Resistance 3's creative director, he hints that Resistance has a bright future, but that Insomniac may not be apart of it. He stated that with the series Resistance they have has success with it, but that they were known to pass their series along to other developers.

"I loved the Spyro the Dragon series when [Insomniac] did that," he told Gaming Union. but later he confessed that "it was healthy for [Insomniac] to move on" and that "that's what were seeing here" with Resistance. "We've done Resistance 3 and we're really into it and proud of it, but we're not currently slated to do a Resistance 4."

Thanks to Truly-A-Lie I have been informed that Resistance (Vita) has been officially named as Resistance: Burning Skies.

The story (or so I am told haven't seen a link to this) is that the player will take control of a fireman instead of a soldier by the name of Tom Riley as he tries to defend America from the first wave of Chimeran attacks in 1951. And is penned by William C. Dietz.

A prequel to Resistance 2. What do you guys think of that move?

This is great news for Resistance fans. As you all know, the Resistnace novel, "A Hole in the Sky" by William C. Dietz has came out. Well Insomniac Games have released their third Resistance 3 development diary here

Seeing as I broke all the sound on the computer, I couldn't analyse the video :/ Can someone do that for me? (: but the things I got is that David Boat will no longer voice Capelli. The role has been handed to Robin Atkin-Downes, already known to the Resistance series as the voice of James Grayson. There will also be another character named Charlie Tent, who will be voiced by Crispin Freeman, though I am not sure how big this character is.

Battle: Los Angeles is release today on both Blu-ray and DVD in the U.S and the U.K. The former includes a free Resistance 3 demo focusing on the riverboat level. The Blu-ray release also includes a code in-pack that can be used to download the R3 demo directly from the Playstation Store (see package for terms & conditions).[1]

The first is the level The Hunt where Capelli has to walk through the woods avoiding Chimeran Snipers.

RESISTANCE creators Insomniac earlier revealed the exclusive Resistance 2 Capelli multiplayer skin for Resistance 3 that comes with the Resistance Dual Pack, a bundling of Resistance: Fall of Man and Resistance 2 that will be release in July.[1]

For those who are thinking that's Capelli's clothing and Body of 1953,but his face is Capelli of 1957, you are not totally wrong. Yes that is Capelli's body and clothing of 1953 but the face isn't him of 1957. Gamespot gives an exclusive playthrough of the Resistance 3 demo from Battle: Los Angeles.[1] The demo showcase the Wrightsburg river level and the return of old weapons - the Magnum and Rossmore Shotgun - and familiar Chimera - Leapers and Grims - and new enemies.

Insomniac Games has revealed the box art for Resistance 3 created by British artist Olly Moss. The box style is graphic version of a Chimeran Skull with the NYC skyline depicted as its teeth, and rendered with the Resistance logo written across the name with a red background.

Well for me at least, Resistance: Fall of Man was a top- notch shooter, with fast- paced action, charming guns(Hailstorm anyone?) and most importantly a gritty, dark shooter. Resistance 2 however, simply did away with what made Fall of Man so appealing in the first place. Say goodbye to the narrator, and groan at the interactions between Hale and Capelli in the cinematic cutscenes. Firing "from the hip"? Not anymore! Hammering foes with the butt of your rifle? Apparently you have to use the knife now. I wouldn't mind but the knife looks so much like the one in CoD, and the knifing doesn't have a visible impact, in fact, it feels more like I'm punching a Hybrid. Insomniac confirms on Facebook that a demo for Resistance 3 will be included with the Blu-ray release of Battle: Los Angeles internationally on 14 June 2011. Although each territory for the international release will announces its own plans.

Gameinformer writer Tim Turi gives an insight at a new weapon, level, and a couple new foes of Resistance 3 at Sony’s press event in Hollywood.

Insomniac Games has announced that Resistance 3 will support stereoscopic 3D as well as PlayStation Move + Sharpshooter support when it releases this September.[1]

Fans of the Resistance franchise will get a chance to appear in the upcoming Resistance 3. A lucky winner and his/her friend will be flown out to San Diego and meet up with the team at Insomniac. His/her face will be digitally scanned and inserted in the game as a survivor of the Chimeran onslaught. The winner will also get hands on exclusive time with the game before it's release. The contest ends Friday March 11th.

Yesterday Sony announced that a new handheld Resistance game is being created by Nihilistic Software for the Next Generation Portable (AKA PSP2).

Nihilistic Software are currently making Playstation Heroes for the Move.

So what do you guys think?

When I first read the book, I'm very mixed on how it was told. The capturing of human beings at the mining pit seems redundant given that spires are being used to infect. The love story thing between Hale and Aklin seems b-rated. And importantly the characterization of some of the characters, specifically Hale and Blake, which detached from what we known in the games.

Also given the fact that the author had previously written a book adaption of Halo in "The Flood", I understands why some fans are not amuse with the writer after reading RtGS.

Give some of your words on what you think about the book. Whether is bad or something.

I love writing fan fiction. I also love the Resistance series. So I thought to myself, "How can I combine those two things?" The answer: by writing a short story (or stories) about Resistance, complete with artwork

My short story (or stories) will detail the invasion of the United States in 1953 through the eyes of Army Rangers in the U.S. state of Washington. It will follow the Army Rangers attempts to evacuate refugees and push Chimeran forces out of the city of Seattle. When a terrible Chimeran secret is discovered by Sgt. Thompson, it is up to him and the remaining soldiers in his unit to stop the Chimera's plans.

I need your input on what you want for multi in R3. IMO, R2's competitive multi sucked hairy monkey balls. I'd like to mail this off to Insomniac so please do me a favour and post sensibly. My wish list includes

• More structured multiplayer, with gun attachments/gun upgrades (like CoD, UnCharted)
• Fully customizable characters (and I mean the skins too!)
• Giving the guns more "oomph"
• More powerful sound effects
• Smaller maps.
• Make combat a little less chaotic, and more tactical
• Classes. (Let us play as that jetpack Chimera!)
• Vehicles. I don't think ANY PlayStation- exclusive FPS has vehicles in multi. (Is there? IDK)

I never did tell you guys about how I became a Resistance fan. It's a little embarrassing. I think that I can trust you to not make fun of me for telling you this.

It was several months ago when I was bored with my current games after I had beat each one of them multiple times. I kept hearing about the Halo franchise (Can you see the irony now?) from many people.
