Blakely was a British Maquis soldier under the command of Col. Roland Mallery. He was stationed at Dunkerque where he escorted Johnny Grayson to a strategic meeting with the Maquis leaders which included Roland Mallery. The latter commander, who doesn't know about Grayson, criticized Blakely for bringing a complete stranger to him until Grayson fully briefed on his military history.
